EEE Composers

EEE would not be able to tell our stories without our wonderful composers:
Brian Erickson writes simple songs born out of early mornings and late nights, spanning a stylistic arc blending jazz, country, and acoustic ballads. He is consumed by the notion that music speaks to the intangible elements of life and moments that exist between people. Educated in music and creative writing, he strives to synthesize the emotive power of melody to explore those stories. His discography includes: "Other Things Like You, Vol. 1" (2010) and "If Gravel was Gold" (2011). A lifelong Midwesterner, Brian Erickson lives and plays in Minneapolis, MN. This is his third collaboration with Eclectic Edge Ensemble.
Warren Park has been an active composer and pianist in the Twin Cities for over forty years. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where he studied composition with Dr. Paul Fetler. His style is a mix of contemporary ‘classical’ music, traditional lyrical folk-influenced music, and jazz. His music (especially for solo piano and small ensembles) has been performed by a variety of professional and student groups since the 1960’s. He founded the West Bank School of Music in 1970 and served 14 years as its first executive director. Among his other interests are creative writing, photography and the tuning and repair of pianos, which is how he actually makes a living.
Michael Rossetto is a Minneapolis based banjoist, guitarist and composer.  In 2003, Rossetto formed the instrumental avant-classical quartet Spaghetti Western String Co. (Swsco.); an ensemble that earned two Minnesota Music Awards for Eclectic Artists of the Year, in 2005-2006, released four albums and wrote two film scores before their demise in 2010.  His often softer and melancholic approach to playing the banjo can be heard on recordings and live performances by Haley Bonar, Solid Gold, The Pines, Pieta Brown, Black Audience and Roma di Luna.  In 2011, Rossetto began collaborating with Karis Sloss (EEE) on Still with cellist Ethan Sutton and Jt Bates.  This collaboration led to the formation of a new instrumental group, The Bello Duo. Their debut recording is expected in the fall of 2013.

Richard Sloss is a graduate of the University of Mn where he studied Music Theory and Composition with Dr, Paul Fetler, Eric Stokes and Dominick Argento. His compositions have been performed by both professional and non-professional musicians in the area. He is always thrilled to provide new, original compositions for EEE.
